As a proud member of the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA), we offer monthly NSCA Registered Tournaments that cater to shooters of all levels. The NSCA, founded in March of 1989 and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, stands as the largest Sporting Clays association in the world and serves as the governing body for the sport in the U.S. With over 22,000 members across all 50 states and 10 foreign countries, the NSCA is dedicated to the promotion and development of sporting clays on a national and international scale.
At Amelia Shotgun Sports, we share the NSCA’s vision and mission. We strive to create an atmosphere of healthy competition and meaningful fellowship within our membership. Our monthly NSCA Registered Tournaments allow shooters to compete at their desired level and showcase their skills. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you’ll find an event that suits your abilities.
The NSCA classification system ensures fair competition and allows shooters to track their progress over time. With seven classes ranging from Master to E, shooters have the opportunity to advance through the ranks based on their performance. Our tournaments provide ample opportunities for shooters to earn punches, which contribute to their classification and overall standing within the NSCA community.
In addition to providing a platform for competitive shooting, the NSCA offers a recreational target shooting sport that complements hunting and promotes gun safety. Rules & Information
RULES/REGULATIONS:
All National Sporting Clays Association rules apply. All shoot management decisions are final. All protests must be in writing and addressed to shoot management. The deadline for submitting a protest is 15 minutes after the last shot is fired on the day the incident took place.
Behavior:
Amelia Shotgun Sports will not tolerate any alcohol use prior to/during any shooting events. Excessive profanity or abnormal behavior is not permitted on any and all shooting grounds, clubhouse, and parking areas. Anyone not abiding by these restrictions will be asked to exit the grounds.
Responsibility:
Shooters are responsible for confirming that he/she is the correct assigned class/concurrent. It is the shooter’s responsibility to verify their score prior to leaving each station. Scores can not be changed once the shooter has departed the station. Any corrections that need to be made to scores and/or event must be reported to the registration staff as soon as possible.
Inclement weather:
In the case of inclement weather (wind gusts of 50mph or above and lightning), shooting personnel will direct you off the course in order to seek shelter in the clubhouse and the pole barn.
Payouts:
All payouts for options and cash prizes will be mailed, or sent as direct deposit if that has been set up. The club is required to report individual monetary winnings in excess of $600 to the IRS for US Residents.
Ammunition:
Ammunition can be purchased in the clubhouse. Factory loads only. No reloads are permitted. No shot larger than 7 1/2 is allowed.
12 GAUGE: Max 1 1/8 oz, 20 GAUGE: Max 7/8 oz, 28 GAUGE: Max 3/4 oz, .410 BORE: Max 1/2 oz
Practice:
Practice stations will require a LongRange card to release targets, which can be rented out in the clubhouse.
Safety:
Eye and ear protection are mandatory requirements for all participants, spectators, trappers, referees, and staff during all times while on the course(s), games and/or practice areas. Anyone not abiding by these rules will be asked to exit the shooting grounds.
Transportation & Carriers:
Golf cart, push cart, ammo pouch rentals can be paid for in the clubhouse. All renters will be responsible for any damage to these items. Operators of golf carts must have a valid driver’s license. No automobiles will be allowed on shooting grounds.
